"State College Borough faces continuing pressures on its older neighborhoods adjacent to a large university. Competition for affordable housing and a tradition of students living in homes off campus have created challenges for the residents and their elected officials for many years. The State College Community Land Trust , through the efforts of its volunteer board of directors working with local government, has successfully begun to help alleviate some of these problems with their exciting work of placing families in rehabilitated homes at affordable prices thus, keeping our communities vibrant."
