Celebrating 25 Years of Affordable Homeownership

Since its incorporation in 1996, SCCLT has:
- Helped 227 residents (119 adults & 108 children) from 73 households obtain the dream of homeownership, and to benefit from a collective total of 637 years of stable, affordable housing costs, enabling homeowners to gain equity and build wealth
- Preserved 51 homes & a total of 63,915 square feet of permanently affordable housing on 9.24 acres of walkable, bikeable land located near public transportation, child-care, schools, shopping, employment and more
- Designed and built 2 net-zero energy ready homes and instituted the Energy+ program to improve energy efficiency and affordability of all future acquisitions
- Contributed to block stabilization in 7 Borough neighborhoods by acquiring homes in Greentree, College Heights, Holmes Foster, the Highlands, Nittany Hills, State College South and Tusseyview
- Consistently supplied pre-and post-purchase budget counseling and homeowner support, resulting in successful homeownership experiences and zero foreclosures for SCCLT’s entire 25-year history
- Partnered with local partners including Housing Transitions Inc., Habitat for Humanity, Centre County Housing and Land Trust, and the State College Borough and Centre County Planning offices to increase the availability and variety of affordable housing in the Centre Region
- Served as a model for successful community land trusts across the state and nation.
