Folks who participated in our GreenBuild design charrettes in the fall and spring of 2014 and 2015 might remember conversations about providing sufficient outdoor storage in houses with small foot prints. Today, 3 1/2 years later, those discussions are turning into reality. Here is Will, from Envinity putting siding on one of the two outdoor sheds that will provide storage for GreenBuild homeowners. Last week, when no one could find the sewer lateral to connect the GreenBuild plumbing to the main, Envinity called a company from Pittsburgh called Miller Pipetech who uses something called a lateral launch camera. They sent the camera into the sewer to find the lateral. Check out the footage, and a map of the results! All of the first story framing happened in one day. The two story sections are where the stairs will be. The framing in those sections spans two stories to eliminate any hinge points between floors.
All renderings are subject to change, and will change as this project evolves.
GreenBuild site manager Chris, and employee Zack, show how the foundation is insulated for frost protection before rough sewer plumbing is installed. The next step will be to backfill with stone, and install sub slab insulation and a vapor barrier. By the end of next week the site will be rough graded, the excavator will be gone, and this will look more like a future home! |
