Since June is #nationalhomeownershipmonth we were bestowed with a proclamation recognizing our 25th Anniversary at last night's Borough of State College council meeting. As our Executive Director Colleen Ritter said, "We're proud to be celebrating this milestone of 25 years of creating forever homes for our community. We thank the Borough council, Mayor, and staff for their tireless support, as well as our countless volunteers, supporters and amazing homeowners, without whom we would not have such a sterling record of success. We also recognize that the need for stable, affordable housing of all types is still profound in our community, and look forward to working to find solutions that ensure the availability of this resource for years to come."

Picked up some new #realestate sign inserts for our #homesunderconstruction from the Sign Factory in #downtownstatecollege today. Look for them around town soon! The yellow and green signs are our old logo, now retired.
We hope that you will join us for this fun and celebratory event! This house is SALE PENDING, but at this event you can learn about other homes we have available, how to apply, how to get involved and more!
Still no dinner for this year's Rose Cologne Volunteer of the Year recognition, but these peeps from the Centre County Council for Human Services still pulled out all the (safely distant) stops for our volunteer, Polly Dunn. They came out despite the cold to our Orlando Ave. house for this delightfully spring-y photo op. We think that stone chimney makes a background! As a member of our Real Estate and Rehab Committee (among other things) Polly has been essential in the acquisition and rehab of this . We are so grateful! Thank you, Polly!
Polly Dunn is the State College Community Land Trust’s Rose Cologne Volunteer of the Year Polly Dunn has been a supporter of the State College Community Land Trust for over 12 years, and a volunteer for the past 8 years on the Board and various committees. Polly assists SCCLT in creating more permanently affordable homes through her service on the Real Estate and Rehabilitation Committee, and as Chair of the Outreach and Development Committee. In addition to her leadership in these roles, Polly is always present for essential hands-on work, such as spring cleaning a new home, photographing SCCLT events and homeowners, and welcoming open house attendees. Most recently, Polly’s life-long dedication to justice, equity and equality has helped to guide the SCCLT through the difficult events of the past year. It is evident that Polly brings her best and most sincere effort to any activity. She is always prepared, does what she says she will do, is deeply kind, and a thoughtful listener. Polly’s quiet, consistent support always yields immeasurable results for which the SCCLT is most grateful. Thank you to the Centre County Council for Human Services and Centre Daily Times for helping us to make this tribute. Special thanks to this homeowner who sold us her house so that it could become SCCLT's 51st forever home today! Thank you, Sally!
Stay tuned here to see how we prepare this house on Old Boalsburg Road for its next owners #communitylandtrusts #CLTs #livinginstatecollege #downtownstatecollege #walkablecity #permanentaffordability In case you missed the big news, we (@THF and SCCLT) bought these townhomes TODAY! We bought the land so these units will be preserved in perpetuity as affordable units, and The HOME Foundation bought and will manage the rentals. Thank you so much to the Borough of State College for being such a champion of this project. Without their efforts in procuring funding, and the patience and dedication of the sellers to see these units preserved, this wouldn't have happened. Kudos also to Governor Tom Wolf Centre County Government and the Pennsylvania for their support of this project.
Also, check out these amazing #womeninhousing! What a great Friday. Have a good weekend everyone! #homeforeveryone #permanentaffordability #closetoeverything #downtownstatecollege #communitylandtrusts #CLTs |
